These packages upgrade the snort binary in /usr/local/snort/bin. The individuals running the Shadow/Snort 2.3 must apply the upgrade in the following manner:

1- copy the package to the drive (via diskette)
2- mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy -t vfat
3- cp /mnt/floppy/snort-2.0.4-i386-1.tgz /tmp
4- cd /tmp
5- /etc/rc.d/rc.snort stop
6- upgradepkg snort-2.0.4-i386-1.tgz
7- /usr/local/snort/bin/snort -V (verify version)
8- /etc/rc.d/rc.snort start
